This spring, the weather in West Virginia has had a mind of its own. One week the weather would be cold and rainy and the next it changes to hot and humid. These extreme changes in the weather pattern have made it hard to make outdoor plans. We think of spring time as a time to clean house and have a fresh start just as the flowers and trees are when coming out of hibernation from the cold winter. This year has made us want to ask Mother Nature to reevaluate her decisions and mellow out some.
The excessive rains have caused major destruction across our state from downed trees to extreme flooding. These storms have resulted in severe damage to people's homes and businesses. A lot of us take it for granted when we see it on the news that it could never happen to us, but this year has hit close to home. I personally have had friends that have seen this damage up close and personal. I'm just glad I can say that we can still count our blessings and be thankful that we made it through the storms.
