On Friday, December 16th, approximately one hundred ten students
were rewarded by a trip to Spare Time Recreation in Ironton, OH. They were
treated with Texas Roadhouse catering and were able to participate in various
activities. They could either challenge their friends to bowl or play laser tag,
and had the opportunity to roller skate. The trip was free to all students who
qualified, but the it cost the school $5,000. Almost any student who attended
the trip had positive feedback.
Freshmen Katie Jervis and Rachel Gilkerson agreed that the trip was awesome
and enjoyable. Sophomore Lakyn Dearnell went as far as saying the trip was
simply spectacular. At the end of the trip, the chaperones gave multiple Tolsia backpacks as prizes with a multitude of gifts inside, ranging from pencils, iTunes
cards and even an iPod shuffle.
Sophomore, Taylor Spry and Chelsea Maynard really enjoyed the prizes and
thought they were a good idea.
